Hi...Thanks very much for the comment. To ask you,
if you want to be a professional illustrator, you do need to have a book, with your best illustrations. You call to prints and ask for the art director... Then you show your work and if you´re a lucky guy...... You can also give ´em with a powerpoint showing your work, writed in a cd, in order to make them remember you, or give´em a booklet with some illustrations and a way to contact you. I feel you can find your place illustrating children stuff.

Any tips on steps to take if one wants to be considered for book covers etc?

As my gallery develops and as I do more digital, more and more editing is done in the software.

For example, the last four pictures I posted were each merged from three separate exposures of the same scene. In the case of "Rare Masters Repost" an additional 6 layers were added to create the lighting effect I wanted, and the candle was dodged to make it glow.

Over the last while I have begun to view the computer as my darkroom, and as I worked a DR for many years, colour and B&W, I am finding that enhancements are just part of what this art calls me to.

The Eye of God, a favourite of yours, was also managed in the computer. The light ratios were so vast that it was impossile to collaps them, so choices had to be made. With this new technique I am using, I should probably revisit that image and see if I can pick up more detail in the shadows.

I like ur stuff for you have a great sense of composition and textures also: u don´t photograph, but paint with photography, just like you were using the camera to create a painting instead of a traditionnal photo. You also have a great sense of absttract, that´s why "The eye of god is one of my favourites". Maybe you can go further and try to edit your pictures with software, but I feel you may found it too artificial and prefear to create your stuff the odd ways... just guessing, lol.
